The photograph above was taken by a US reconnaissance aircraft of the Son Tay POW camp near Hanoi in North Vietnam in November 1970. Day later, a daring crew of Army Green Berets and Air Force Special Operations Forces attempted a rescue of the sixty US servicemembers thought to be held there.
