Saigon Fell 46 Years Ago. Here’s the Story of Its Most Iconic Photo.

One of the most iconic photographs of the Vietnam War, and the most iconic photograph of the Fall of Saigon, is an image of dozens of South Vietnamese being airlifted out of Saigon by a Huey Helicopter on the roof of the Pittman Building.

When the VBC went to Vietnam in February, we saw the Pittman Building, which is now an apartment complex. It stands next to Vincom, one of Vietnam’s largest shopping centers. In the video below, Todd recalls the trip he took up to the roof, and how the views from up there looked quite different than they would have nearly 50 years ago.
