February 5-19, 2020

In February, the Veterans Breakfast Club led a 14-day tour of Vietnam, from Hanoi and Halong Bay in the North to Saigon and the Mekong Delta in the South. Twenty of us traveled together, including six who served in country. We learned a lot about both the history of the Vietnam War and Vietnamese culture. We enjoyed delicious regional cuisine, met many warm and friendly people, and marveled at a vibrant economy that is one of the fastest growing in the world. Every day, we paused from our wonder of contemporary Vietnam to consider the past and remember those Americans who arrived here 50+ years ago and never returned. We came away with changed and different understandings of the country and the war.
