Robert Sawhill departing Hanoi, March 1973
SPECIAL MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM: USAF pilot Robert Sawhill was shot down on August 23, 1967 over North Vietnam, captured and held prisoner at the Hanoi Hilton for five-and-a-half years. He returned home whole and healthy, despite the torture he endured. How did he do it?  Joining us to discuss this question are members of the Sawhill family, along with Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Bob Podurgiel and Carol Dlugos of the Historical Society of Carnegie. They will explain how Sawhill kept the faith and what we might learn from his example. Sponsored by Tobacco Free Adagio Health.  Simulcast to Facebook and YouTube. JOIN ON ZOOM.
