Back in August, we had Blue Star Mom, Doctoral Student, and now, children’s book author Lori Huertas on the Scuttlebutt. Her book that she gave us a preview of on that episode has just come out–Papa’s Scooter: A Legacy of Love.

Based on a true story, a grandfather with terminal cancer reflects on life lessons as he rides around in his scooter, dressed in military (Army) attire to honor his grandson. In the book he is spending time with his great grandson and reminding him how bravery and courage are two of his greatest assets. He lets reader’s know that “it’s okay” to feel sad at times.
