Meet “Nomad”—Jim Lawrence—a Marine pilot who flew 608 combat missions from Vietnam to Afghanistan and has logged almost five full years (41,500 hours) in the pilot’s seat. Pete Mecca will ask him about carrier landings and takeoffs and flying A-4s and A-10s in Vietnam, Bosnia, and Iraq. Nomad will also talk about perhaps his most dangerous and unglamorous duty: flying Forward Air Controller (FAC) missions in an O-1 Cessna Birddog out of DaNang in 1969.
