RMT2, Zack was awarded Korean Peace Medal posthumously for his service support operations in the Korean DMZ peace effort.
Served aboard USS Kenneth Whiting AV-14 supporting operations for peace in Korea. Medals: National Service, China service (extended). Good conduct Medals.
Story:
After his Naval, Donald returned to Freeport, and took a position as a precision surface grinder with Oberg Manufacturing. Donald and his wife Marilyn moved to Maryland in 1985.
After he passed, Donald was brought home and buried in McVille Union Cemetery in South Buffalo Twp next to his wife Marilyn who predecessed him in 2014.
