Join the Veterans Breakfast Club for a special Open Conversation commemorating the 78th birthday of the United States Air Force, founded on September 18, 1947. This is an open forum for all who served in the Air Force, worked alongside it, or simply want to honor its proud history and enduring mission.

We’ll hear stories from Airmen past and present, reflect on the legacy of airpower in American military history, and celebrate the values that define the USAF: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. Everyone is welcome to listen, ask questions, and share reflections—whether you’re an Air Force veteran, family member, or friend.

The United States Air Force was born with the passage of the National Security Act of 1947, which reorganized the U.S. military following World War II. Until then, America’s air forces operated under the U.S. Army as the Army Air Forces. The 1947 Act created an independent Department of the Air Force, establishing airpower as a distinct and equal branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. The decision recognized the vital role that air superiority played in modern warfare—a lesson hard-learned during WWII. From its origins in the Wright brothers’ experiments and the Signal Corps’ early aircraft to its global role today in deterrence, defense, and humanitarian missions, the USAF has continually adapted to meet the challenges of a changing world.

Let’s come together to honor that legacy and the men and women who’ve made it possible.
