⚠️ Mature conversation. Intended for adult audiences. Zoom only, registration required.
The Veterans Breakfast Club is launching a new pilot series—VBC After Dark—created for veterans who want a looser, more unfiltered conversation than our traditional programs. We’ll meet in the closed Zoom environment without a livestream to Facebook or YouTube. Registration is required.
Our first guest is Michael D’Angelo, a Marine Corps veteran and stand-up comedian who found his way out of a hard upbringing and into service, brotherhood, and eventually comedy. Encouraged by fellow Marines to take the stage, Michael discovered that humor—raw, honest, and sometimes uncomfortable—could rebuild morale the same way the Corps once rebuilt him.
Michael is the founder of the Rapid Fire Comedy Tour, a nonprofit that brings live stand-up comedy directly to military units, first responders, and veteran communities. He performs in unconventional places, from ranges and shipping containers to behind the barracks. His work is about connection, camaraderie, and telling the truth without varnish.
This VBC After Dark program is not a comedy show. It’s a conversation with candid stories about military life, transition, comedy, and why humor has always been part of how veterans survive, bond, and make sense of things.
Michael recently spoke about this journey on the Urban Valor Podcast, and we’re glad to continue that conversation with the VBC community.
Please note, this program is labeled After Dark because mature language or themes may arise.
We’re piloting this series to reach veterans whose stories don’t always fit neatly into formal settings. If the VBC’s mission is to connect, heal, educate, and inspire through veterans’ stories, then sometimes we have to let those stories be told in the language veterans actually use.
