⚠️ Mature conversation. Intended for adult audiences. Zoom only, registration required.
The Veterans Breakfast Club continues our adult-themed program — VBC After Dark — created for those who want a looser, more unfiltered conversation than our traditional programs. After Dark explores subjects that may be controversial, personal, or simply difficult to discuss elsewhere. We’ll meet in the closed Zoom environment without a livestream to Facebook or YouTube. Registration is required.
On this episode, we’ll discuss whether psychedelic medicine can help veterans heal from PTSD.
As research into psychedelic-assisted therapy expands, more veterans are exploring treatments involving substances such as psilocybin, MDMA, and ketamine for PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), depression, anxiety, and moral injury. What does the research actually show? What remains uncertain? And why are so many veterans interested?
Joining us are representatives from the Three Rivers Psychedelic Society (TRiPS), a Pittsburgh nonprofit dedicated to education and public awareness about psychedelic research. Together we’ll discuss the current state of clinical research, how psychedelic-assisted therapy differs from conventional approaches, the legal and ethical questions surrounding these treatments, and why the topic has generated growing interest within the veteran community.
As always at VBC, our goal is not to persuade but to create an informed, respectful conversation around a topic many veterans are asking about.
Whether you’re curious, skeptical, hopeful, or simply looking to better understand this rapidly evolving field, we invite you to join the conversation.
⚠️ Please note: This is a Zoom-only program. Registration is required. It will not be livestreamed or publicly recorded. As with all VBC After Dark programs, mature language or sensitive topics may arise.
