In 1945, P-51 pilot Joe Peterburs was one of the few American fighter pilots to shoot down a Messerschmitt Me 262, the first jet plane. A few missions later, Joe himself was shot down, taken POW, escaped, and then fought with the Russians for a few weeks. Joe will talk about his service in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He’ll also discuss what it was like to befriend Walter Schuck–the German fighter ace he shot down in 1945–decades later.
