Meet TOPGUN alumnus Evan Werner and others who have experienced in real-life what the Top Gun movies made famous. TOPGUN is the world’s most elite military aviation programs, the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School. The Navy launched TOPGUN during the Vietnam War as air combat losses climbed. Located today at the Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada, TOPGUN breaks students into three groups: Strike Fighter Tactics Instructors (SFTIs), Adversaries and Air Intercept Controllers. TOPGUN graduates go on to become teachers in their units, passing along the knowledge and skills gained during their 13 weeks of training. Join VBC Happy Hour as we talk with Evan about the program and the key lessons of leadership, as well as aircraft handling, he learned.
