Another VBC veteran was honored at Heinz Field by Pittsburgh Steelers. During the Sunday night game against the Seahawks, fans cheered as the Jumbotron showed this video and Harry Van Riper walked on the field.

Harry, who lost his army to a Viet Cong rocket in 1968, wrote afterward saying he “was totally overwhelmed. I haven’t been to a Steelers game since Terry Bradshaw days. Over the years that I have attended the Veteran’s Breakfast  Club events I did a huge amount of healing. This event provided even more healing.”

Our best wishes to Harry as he travels next month to Salt Lake City to be evaluated for a possible “bionic arm” prosthesis—which would be his first prosthetic ever. If all goes well, might the new arm put Harry in line for Pittsburgh’s quarterback of the future? Good luck, Harry!
