Thank you to Navy veteran Chris Pirollo for telling us about the San Diego Web Cam, which is really a collection of webcam views that capture the comings and goings of Navy ships in San Diego Bay. You can choose from several vantages and watch live, or select a recorded playlist of Navy deployments and homecomings. Watch, for example, the truly awe-inspiring departure of the USS Carl Vinson last month, with tugboats and security escorts in tow. The videos are accompanied by marine radio traffic. And it’s not all Navy ships. You can watch beautiful sunsets, busy downtown San Diego, and all manner of watercraft buzzing about the Bay.
